How We Go About Our Work
There’s far more to bricklaying than meets the eye, and the number of sub-par brick features you’ll spot around Farnham, Hazlemere and Petersfield is testament to this! To excel as bricklayers, it requires a lot of knowledge and practice out there in the field. So how do we go about a typical bricklaying project?
First of all, we prepare the foundation. The foundation must be level and stable to ensure that the brickwork will last the test of time and not pose a danger to people and property. Once the foundation is prepared, our bricklayers mix mortar to a consistency befitting the nature of the work.
We’ll then proceed to lay a bed of mortar on the foundation, using a trowel to spread it evenly. The first course of bricks is then laid on the mortar bed, with our bricklayers using a spirit level to ensure that each brick is level and straight. The mortar joints between the bricks must also be the correct width and depth to ensure that the brickwork is secure and stable. Once finished and cleaned up, Farnham, Hazlemere and Petersfield residents will be able to enjoy a perfectly formed brick feature that will well-exceed expectations.
